Scunthorpe Music Festival Success
The Vale Academy music department have had another fantastic year at the Scunthorpe Music Festival, with students returning to festival classes for the first time in three years and many students experiencing a competitive music festival for the first time. There were spectacular individual performances from Jasmine, Zante, Bethany, Manna and Daniel, all of whom gained first prize in their respective classes and distinction marks.
The ensembles were out in force on Friday evening with the senior wind band, whole school choir and belleplates winning first prizes and distinction marks.
Saturday evening saw the culmination of the week and we are thrilled to announce that Jasmine won the Dunhill Trophy and bursary funding for the most promising pianist, Manna won the Olive Graveling bursary for the most promising young singer, Daniel won the Alf Whitby trophy for the most promising brass player and Zante won The Music Trophy and bursary funding for being awarded the most promising musician.
We are proud of all students who took part and the exceptional commitment and dedication to achieve such stunning performances.
Well done!
