  • District Athletics

    Congratulations to all of the students who took part in the District Athletics on Tuesday 9th July at Costello stadium .  The Year 7, 8 and 10 team finished first and the Year 9 team finished second. 
    Vale won the overall division and have been promoted for next year in to division 1. Fantastic!!!!
  • London Theatre Experience

    Another outstanding visit to London for 52 Year 8 students! Students were lucky enough to get great weather and superb views across London from the London Eye on the first day of the experience. This was followed by a meal at Planet Hollywood and an evening performance of Matilda. The second day was action packed with a tour of The Globe Theatre, a tour of The Tower of London and a matinee production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.   • The Lincolnshire Show

    The year 10 land based studies group exhibited with their project potato at the Lincolnshire Show. The project was undertake at the allotment at The Vale Academy, the group received support from RJ & AE Godfrey and Uncle Henry's

  • U13 Rounders

  • Academy Champions

    The Vale Academy took part in the Schools Partnership Trust first annual SPT Academy Games at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. This gave the students the opportunity to compete against nine other academies from within the SPT from across Yorkshire. 

    Vale Academy were crowned the overall champions after winning both the U13 boys and U15 girls and finishing 2nd in the U15 boys and 3rd in the U13 girls.

  • KS4 National Badminton Finals

    The Vale Academy Key Stage 4 badminton team finished 7th nationally in the Center Parcs badminton competition.

  • National Schools Badminton

    25th March 2013

    Congratulations to The Vale Academy KS4 boys badminton team who have reached the Center Parcs National Finals. They will be representing Yorkshire! It takes place on 21st and 22nd April at Sherwood Forest.

    Sarah Milne will be at the Finals as the young Team England star, Sarah has been in to The Vale Academy recently running some Badminton Workshops with our students.

  • Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

    15th March 2013

    Throughout the spring term, students from The Vale Academy have been working with members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The workshops lasted for a total of 6 days, culminating in 2 performances at the Baths Hall given to a full house of pupils on both occasions. Activities included composing a piece of music which was performed by students and the RPO, learning about event management, repertoire and presenting large scale concerts.

  • Bird in your Ear

    13th March 2013

    The Vale Academy pupils were treated to a 2 hour workshop given by the flap your feathers theatre company. Based on developing literacy and story telling skills, the session was welcomed  with real excitement by the pupils who composed their own stories based on objects that were given to them.

    The theatre company then presented "Bird in your Ear" during an evening performance which delighted the audience both young and old.

    It was a pure 90 mins of professionalism by the actors and Westmoor Hall was complete

  • Brass Master Class

    13th March 2013

    We were honoured to host a brass masterclass given by Christopher Deacon. Chris is principal trumpet for the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. He has provided the trumpet playing for many films including Harry Potter, Disney and Warner Bros. He was the trumpet soloist at the Royal wedding as well as the London 2012 Olympic Games. He has made solo appearances in Europe and the Far East and has taught for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

  • Production leaves audience wanting MORE!

    The opening night of Oliver this evening left the auidience wanting MORE!

    Fantastic musicians, actors and actresses performed live from Westmoor Hall at The Vale Academy.

    Tickets are still available for future nights (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). We would love you to come along and enjoy the show with us.

  • The Vale Academy Friends' Association

    The Vale Academy Friends' Association has very kindly donated £1000 to be spent on library books for students. The Chair of the Friends' Association, Alison Baugh, is pictured presenting Gail Young with the cheque. Mrs Young commended the 'Friends' for their huge efforts in support of the academy.
    She stated that we are desperately in need of new members, that the committee members are incredibly friendly and would be delighted to welcome new parents to the next meeting on April 22nd at 6-30 p.m.
  • Stargazing Live

    9th January 2013

    The Vale Academy was invited to provide a series of activities for the Stargazing Live Event which took place on January 8th 2013 at Waters’ Edge, Barton upon Humber. The event was superbly well attended and our students were delighted to be able to support it.

    Year 9 and Year 10 students were involved : Emily, Jordan, Hannah, Emily, Bram, Oliver, Cameron, Gabriella and Jade. They were supported by two 6th Form Physics students, Elliot and Ben.

  • Parents Recommend The Vale Academy

    5th November 2012

    Following a questionnaire conducted at Year 7 settling-in evening, 100% of parents would recommend the academy to prospective parents.  Of the 737 questions asked, there were only 7 responses that cited disagreement with academy policy - less than 1%.

    Analysis of the Year 8 questionnaires showed that 100% of responses received suggested that the academy would be recommended to prospective parents.  Of the 770 questions, there were 10 responses which disagreed with policy.  Again, this is less than 1%.
