  • Brass Master Class 2014

    We were honoured to hold a master class given by Christopher Deacon at The Vale Academy. Christopher is at present, principal trumpet with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia but also works with some of the finest orchestras of Great Britain, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  

    He has played the trumpet on the soundtrack of many films including Harry Potter and is the soloist for the Coronation Street theme tune. Students from other secondary and primary schools were treated

  • Young Enterprise

    Another successful day for The Young Enterprise team.... they didn't sell out this time but they did win an award for the best product. There was a lot of competition with about 20 other teams attending the trade fair so the team did really well to win this award.

  • Year 8 Netball

    28th February 2014

    The year 8 netball team finished second in the North Lincs tournament and will go on to represent North Lincs at the Humber School Games in April.

  • Samba Workshop - WI

    6th February 2014

    The Vale Academy samba band performed at Hibaldstow hall on Tuesday 4th February. They gave a short concert before the ladies of the WI took part in a samba workshop. Ladies, students and staff had a thoroughly enjoyable evening which concluded with the ladies performing a full samba piece along side our students. Congratulations to all!

  • Indoor Athletics & Hockey Success

    The Vale Academy managed great success in the indoor athletics and hocket competitions, we came away with three first places and one second so all four teams will go through to the next round and represent North Lincolnshire. Well done to everyone involve!

    The Vale Academy brass ensemble performed to a packed audience at the Baths Hall for the local authority community champions awards evening. The group thoroughly enjoyed being on the main stage and gave a superb performance. For more pictures see  the gallery on our curriculum music page.

    Congratulations the KS4 boys team who won the North Lincs badminton competition and will play in the Humberside round in February at the Humber School Games.

    The Vale Academy Year 8 Girls football team finished runners up in the Scunthorpe United Competition tonight only losing only the final match.

  • Autumn Fair

    Students of The Vale Academy successfully conducted the autumn fair on Thursday afternoon. The fair saw many different types of stalls with various prizes and items for sale. Raffle draws, paper aeroplane competitions, cake stalls, food & drinks, lipstick the teacher, popcorn, candyfloss, soak-a-student and much more.

    We had a great turn out and would like to thank the many visitors who came to support. E3 managed to raise the most money from our tutor groups, well done!

    The Vale Academy girls team won the U14 District Football Competition.  They didn't lose a match or even let a goal in. FANTASTIC, WELL DONE!

    Runners up in the U14 Scunthorpe and District Netball Championships and will be representing North Lincolnshire in the Lincolnshire County Championships in November.

  • Sponsored Walk over The Humber Bridge

    16th September 2013

    Intrepid students will spend four weeks on an expedition to Borneo.

    To raise funds, Team Borneo 2014 took on a more local challenge with a fancy dress sponsored walk over the Humber Bridge.

    The students from The Vale Academy in Brigg will spend next July working in remote villages and the island’s rainforest.

    Miss King, trip leader, joined in with the fund raising by dressing up as an orang-utan for the sponsored walk, she said it had been great fun. For more information about the Borneo trip, go to http://val

  • The Vale Academy GCSE Results 2013

    We are absolutely delighted with our GCSE examination results this year.

    70% of the year group achieved 5A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics, with 79% of students achieving A*-C in Mathematics and 76% A*-C in English.

    24% of students achieved A*/A grades in both Mathematics and Science which are fantastic results with 19% achieving A*/A in English.
