  • Sports Hall Athletics Results 2015

    16th April 2015

    The Vale Academy's Sportshall Athletics team had some fantastic results at The Humber Games Finals on Thursday 16 April 2015.

     

    Year 7 boys finished in 4th place.

    Year 7 girls finished in 2nd place.

    Year 8 boys finished in 1st place.

    Year 8 boys team are now Country Champions!

  • Coding Competition Winners

    Eric France (Rotary) presented Callum & Emily with certificates after winning The Scunthorpe Technology Challenge Coding Competition (pictured with Mr Burrin who ran the competition within the academy).

     

  • Dodgeball Success

    4th March 2015

    KS3 and KS4 Boys dodgeball teams both competed in the North Lincolnshire schools competition and both teams won their age group competition. They will now go on to represent North Lincolnshire in the Humber School Games and compete against schools from Hull, North East Lincolnshire and East Riding.

  • KS3 Girls Basketball

    4th February 2015

    The KS3 girls backetball team won the Humber Schools Games competition and are now the champions of Humberside. The competition consisted of teams from Hull, East Riding, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.

  • Footpath Closure

    Please be aware that the footpath between The Vale Academy and St Mary's will be closed for 6 weeks from Monday 9 February, due to work on the entrance for the new academy building.   • Those Were the Days

    Tickets are now on sale for the academy's production 'Those Were the Days.' Students have been working hard since October to create a journey through British history in the 20th Century for the audience. The production takes a selection of important markers in British history, including the sinking of the Titanic, WW1, the creation of the NHS system, the 1980's Miners strikes, up until 2000, with a Millennium Party scene and a look at the impact of modern technologies.     Miss Coulthwaite’s 7set1 created model cells for their Quality Mark assignment, the work produced was outstanding!

    A special well done to Megan Davies and Isobel Morely who weren't in school on the day we presented the projects but still managed to send their work in!

  • Christmas concert a cracker

    15th December 2014

    Over two nights our talented students played and sang to a delighted audience with pieces ranging from Disney's Frozen medley to Christmas songs and classical with drums, strings, brass, choirs and more.  We were also treated to a sneak preview of our February stage production, "Those were the days."  It was a real treat!   • KS3 Boys Basketball

    The KS3 boys basketball team won the North Lincolnshire schools competition and will now go on to represent North Lincolnshire in the County rounds where they will compete against: Hull, East Riding and North East Lincolnshire.

  • GCSE Results 2014

    We are really pleased with students' performance at The Vale Academy this year. 65% of students achieved 5 A*-C including English and maths with 68% of students achieving grade C or above in both English and maths. Our English results are our highest ever with 80% of students achieving grade C or above. There were many outstanding individual performances; of particular note are Tom Sprakes and Maddison Sumner who both achieved 8 A* and 3 A grades.   • Literary Success at KS3

    Students in year 7 & 8 have recently entered a mini saga competition. Thirty One students were successful and had their work published in A Twist in The Tale. All students have copies of the book and we are very proud of their achievement.
